New Judging Committee Announced for 2025 Zayed Award for Human Fraternity

The judging committee for the 2025 Zayed Award for Human Fraternity has been announced. The committee is led by Secretary-General Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam.

The committee features notable figures such as Macky Sall, former President of Senegal; Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, former Prime Minister of Spain; Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organisation; Cardinal Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson, Chancellor of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences and Social Sciences; and Patricia Scotland KC, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth.

Award Background

The Zayed Award for Human Fraternity is an international prize that honors individuals and organizations worldwide for their efforts in promoting solidarity, integrity, fairness, and peaceful coexistence. Named after Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the award was established in 2019 following the signing of the Document on Human Fraternity by Pope Francis and Grand Imam Ahmed Al-Tayeb.

Nomination and Ceremony

Nominations for the 2025 award can be submitted until October 31, 2024. The recipient(s) will be honored in February during a ceremony that coincides with the International Day of Human Fraternity.
