New Bills to be Introduced in Parliament by Nirmala Sitharaman, Sarbananda Sonowal, and Other Ministers
New Delhi, India – On August 9, 2024, during the ongoing Budget Session, several new Bills will be introduced in the Lok Sabha by various Union Ministers.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will introduce the Banking Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2024. This Bill aims to amend the Reserve Bank of India Act, the Banking Regulation Act, and the State Bank of India Act. Additionally, she will introduce Bills to amend the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Acts of 1970 and 1980.
Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal
Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will introduce a Bill to outline the responsibilities, liabilities, rights, and immunities related to the carriage of goods by sea. Another Bill will address the transfer of rights and liabilities to the consignee named in a bill of lading.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will introduce a Bill to amend the Railways Act of 1989.
Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu
Union Minister for Civil Aviation Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu will introduce a Bill to regulate the design, manufacture, maintenance, and other aspects of aircraft.
Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal
Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal will move a Bill to enable the reservation of seats for Scheduled Tribes in the Legislative Assembly of Goa, following the inclusion of certain communities in the Scheduled Tribes list.

Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju and Congress MP will move a motion to agree with the Third Report of the Business Advisory Committee. Additionally, various ministers including Prataprao Jadhav, Pankaj Chaudhary, Anupriya Patel, Shantanu Thakur, and Savitri Thakur will lay papers on the Table.
