Ratan Tata’s Passing Mourned by Nepal’s Prime Minister

On October 10, Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli expressed his sorrow over the death of Ratan Tata, a renowned industrialist. Oli highlighted Tata’s significant contributions to business and philanthropy, which impacted many lives globally. Ratan Tata, who was the Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons, passed away at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai.

In a heartfelt message, Oli described Tata as a ‘true titan of industry’ whose legacy will be cherished. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will represent the Indian government at Tata’s last rites, which will be conducted with full state honors, as announced by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The Maharashtra government declared a day of mourning, with flags at half-mast and no government cultural events.

The public can pay their respects to Ratan Tata at the NCPA Lawns in Mumbai on Thursday morning. His final journey will commence at 4 pm. Ratan Tata, born on December 28, 1937, in Mumbai, led the Tata Group from 1991 to 2012 and was honored with the Padma Vibhushan in 2008.
