Nepal’s Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba Meets PM Modi to Strengthen India-Nepal Ties
Nepal’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Arzu Rana Deuba, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. Deuba expressed her commitment to enhancing the relationship between Nepal and India. She thanked PM Modi for India’s Neighbourhood First Policy and various development initiatives in Nepal.
PM Modi appreciated the high-level engagement between the two countries and accepted an invitation from Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to visit Nepal. Modi highlighted the close ties and progressive partnership between the two nations.
Deuba is on an official visit to India from August 18-22, invited by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. During her visit, she discussed cooperation in power generation, sports, and other areas. Nepal will export an additional 251 MW of power to India, and the Nepali cricket team will receive training in Bengaluru.
Both countries noted the progress in various bilateral projects, including infrastructure and digital connectivity. The visit continues the tradition of regular high-level exchanges between India and Nepal.
