Nepal-India Border Security Meeting in Kathmandu
The eighth annual Nepal-India border security coordination meeting began in Kathmandu, focusing on the movement of third-country nationals across the Nepal-India border. The meeting was led by APF Inspector General Raju Aryal and SSB Director General Amrit Mohan Prasad.

Officials discussed the flow of nationals from China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Myanmar. Indian officials noted the presence of Chinese and Pakistani nationals, while Nepal raised concerns about Rohingya refugees and Bangladeshi nationals following political instability in Bangladesh.

Rishi Ram Tiwari, spokesperson for Nepal’s Ministry of Home Affairs, mentioned discussions on human trafficking, cross-border criminal activities, and coordination between border agencies. The meeting also addressed drug trafficking, smuggling, and corruption.

The agencies aim to enhance joint patrolling, maintain boundary pillars, and improve communication. They also discussed joint preparations for natural disasters, pledging to share resources and manpower for emergencies.
