Nepal Helicopter Crash: Investigation Launched After Tragic Accident Kills 5
A tragic helicopter crash occurred in the hills of Nepal, resulting in the deaths of all five people on board. The Nepal government has responded by forming a three-member committee to investigate the incident.
Details of the Crash
The Air Dynasty helicopter, which was carrying four Chinese nationals and a Nepali pilot, crashed in the Shivapuri National Park area. The helicopter lost contact with the control tower just three minutes after taking off from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.
Witness Accounts
Harilal Pantha, one of the first responders, described hearing the helicopter pass by twice before it crashed. He rushed to the site and found the helicopter engulfed in flames with bodies scattered around. Another local resident, Santa Bahadur, also witnessed the crash and described the intense flames and scattered bodies.
Government Response
An emergency cabinet meeting was held, and a committee was formed to investigate the crash. The committee is led by Senior Nepal Army Pilot Subhash Thapa and includes aeronautical engineer Bishnu Basnet and Tanuja Pokharel. They have 30 days to submit their report.
Previous Incident
This crash comes less than two weeks after another aviation accident involving Saurya Airlines, which claimed 18 lives at Tribhuvan International Airport.
