NEET PG Exam Postponed Amid Concerns Over Exam Integrity

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has decided to postpone the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) Examination, which was originally scheduled for June 23. The decision was made to ensure the integrity of the examination process.

According to a statement from the ministry, a thorough assessment of the examination processes will be conducted, and a new date for the exam will be announced soon. The ministry expressed regret for any inconvenience caused to the students, emphasizing that the decision was made in their best interests.

Dr. Rakesh Sharma, OSD to President and Member of the Governing Body of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), assured that the exam will be conducted securely through a computer-based test mode across the country. He highlighted the robust Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in place to maintain the secrecy and integrity of the exam.

Meanwhile, the National Testing Agency (NTA), responsible for conducting NEET-UG exams, is under scrutiny for alleged irregularities. This has led to protests and demands for the disbandment of the NTA. In response, the Ministry of Education has formed a high-level committee, led by former ISRO chairman Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, to recommend reforms in the examination process and data security protocols. The committee will submit its report in the next two months.
