NEET-PG 2024 Postponed: NBEMS President Abhijat Sheth Promises New Date Soon
The NEET-PG 2024 exam, which was supposed to happen on June 23, has been postponed by the Union Health Ministry. This decision came after concerns about exam irregularities in the NEET-UG exam held on May 5.
Review of SOPs and Protocols
NBEMS President Abhijat Sheth stated that the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and protocols will be reviewed quickly, and a new date for the exam will be announced next week. This announcement followed a review meeting between officials from the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) and the Union Health Ministry.
Ensuring Exam Integrity
Dr. Sheth emphasized that the integrity of the NEET-PG exam has always been maintained. However, due to recent events, there were concerns from students, prompting the government to review the SOPs and protocols to ensure the exam’s sanctity, safety, and security.
Advisory Against Social Media Messages
Dr. Sheth also mentioned that advisories were issued against misleading social media messages to protect students and keep them on the right path.
High-Level Committee for Reforms
The Ministry of Education has formed a high-level committee of experts to recommend reforms in the examination process and improve data security protocols. This 7-member committee, led by former ISRO chairman Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, will submit its report in the next two months.
