NEET PG 2024: Dr. Rakesh Sharma Ensures Secure and Transparent Exam

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is set to conduct the NEET PG 2024 exam. Dr. Rakesh Sharma, OSD to President and Member of the Governing Body of NBEMS, stated that the exam will be conducted through a computer-based test (CBT) mode across the country.

Dr. Sharma emphasized the importance of maintaining transparency and security, mentioning that NBEMS has robust Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in place. He assured that there would be no leakage of the question paper, thanks to the stringent measures taken.

NBEMS is supported by various medical colleges, faculty, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), and other agencies. Chief secretaries and DGPs of all states have been briefed to ensure the safe conduct of the exam.

The NEET PG 2024 will be held in 292 cities, with 2,28,757 candidates participating, including 1,05,791 females, 1,22,961 males, five transgender individuals, 223 Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), 195 non-OCI, and 119 Non-Resident Indians (NRI).

To enhance surveillance, NBEMS has introduced flying squads comprising chancellors, current and former members of the Governing Body, vice-chancellors, principals, deans, and faculty members. These squads will visit test centers and report on exam security and the use of unfair means.

Command centers will be set up at NBEMS Headquarters and 10 regional command centers to supervise the test centers closely. Candidates are advised to arrive at the test hall at least an hour before the scheduled time.

Meanwhile, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is facing criticism over alleged irregularities in this year’s NEET (Undergraduate) and NET exams, leading to protests and demands to disband the NTA.
