Rescue Operations in Tripura Floods

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the Indian Air Force have been working tirelessly to help people affected by the floods in Tripura. On Friday evening, NDRF teams evacuated 125 people from various flood-hit areas. Eleven NDRF teams have been deployed across the state for rescue and relief operations.

Meanwhile, the Indian Air Force has been using helicopters to air-drop food packets to those stranded. On August 24, the Air Force announced that they had dropped over 4,000 food packets in areas like Rangamati, Jatanbari, Udaipur, Paschim Malbasa, and Shankar Pali. So far, 28 tons of relief material have been airlifted for the flood-affected regions.

In a post on X, NDRF shared that they had evacuated 125 people and retrieved one deceased in areas like Karbook and Amarpur of Gomti, Sepahijala, and Khowai.

Chief Minister Manik Saha is scheduled to hold an all-party meeting to review the flood situation. He assured citizens that the situation is under control and thanked the central government for its support. According to the latest data, the floods have caused 24 deaths, injuries, and extensive damage to infrastructure and agriculture. A total of 558 relief camps have been set up since August 19.
