NCW Investigates Incident in Rewa: Women Buried in Gravel During Family Dispute
The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken notice of an incident in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, where two women were partially buried in gravel amid a family dispute over road construction. The NCW has written to the state police chief, requesting an Action Taken Report (ATR) within three days.

The incident occurred on July 20 in Hinauta village, Rewa. Two women were protesting against the construction of a road when a dumper truck off-loaded gravel over them, partially burying them. The women alleged they were assaulted and buried by the accused during their protest.
Police Action
According to Rewa police, a case for attempted murder has been registered against three individuals: Praveen (the dumper truck driver), Gokaran Pandey (the father-in-law of one of the victims), and Bipin Pandey (another family member). Rewa SP Vivek Singh stated that Bipin has been taken into custody, and the dumper truck has been seized. The investigation is ongoing, and efforts are being made to apprehend the other two suspects.
