NCW Demands Action Against Ahmad K. for Insulting Comment on Captain Anshuman Singh’s Widow

New Delhi, India – The National Commission for Women (NCW) has condemned a derogatory comment made by Ahmad K. from Delhi on a photo of Kirti Chakra Captain Anshuman Singh’s widow. The NCW has urged the Delhi Police to take immediate action against Ahmad K.

NCW Chairperson Rekha Sharma has written a letter to the Delhi Commissioner of Police, demanding the arrest of Ahmad K. and a detailed report within three days. The comment has violated Section 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000.

The NCW’s letter emphasized its mandate to protect women’s rights and ensure equality and development. The letter detailed the legal provisions violated by Ahmad K.’s comment, including the potential punishments under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology Act.

The NCW has called for a fair and time-bound investigation and stressed the seriousness of the issue. The Commission expects a detailed action taken report within three days.
