NCW Chief Rekha Sharma Visits Hathras After Tragic Stampede

National Commission for Women (NCW) Chairperson Rekha Sharma visited Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, to ensure the arrest of those responsible for a tragic stampede that claimed 121 lives. She met with the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police to discuss the incident.

On Wednesday, Sharma also met with the women who were injured in the stampede. She emphasized the need to educate and counsel women to prevent them from becoming easy targets for deceptive figures like ‘Bhole Baba’.

Sharma criticized ‘Bhole Baba’, the event organizer, for his illegal activities and called for his immediate arrest. She questioned whether the incident was pre-planned and highlighted the need for stricter punishments for those involved.

An FIR has been lodged against the event organizers, and a search operation is underway for ‘Bhole Baba’, who is currently untraceable. The Uttar Pradesh police have filed charges under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
