NCRTC and Airtel Payments Bank Launch Namo Bharat NCMC Cards

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has introduced co-branded Namo Bharat NCMC cards for travel on Namo Bharat trains. These cards aim to provide seamless connectivity between trains and other public transport modes. Available as prepaid and debit cards, they can also be used for shopping and dining.

Availability and Features

The cards can be purchased at RRTS stations or through the Airtel Thanks app. They feature tap-and-pay technology for quick transactions at transit terminals and retail outlets. The initiative is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘One Nation, One Card’ program.

Launch Event

The launch event was attended by Shalabh Goel, Managing Director of NCRTC, and Ganesh Ananthanarayanan, COO of Airtel Payments Bank. They emphasized the card’s role in enhancing the digital payment ecosystem and improving commuter convenience.

Future Plans

NCRTC plans to expand the operational corridor between Sahibabad and Meerut South, with full completion expected by June 2025. The organization recently won awards for its efforts in sustainable and seamless transit solutions.
