NCP-SCP Leader Jitendra Awhad Faces Charges for Spreading False Information About Government Schemes

A case has been registered against NCP-SCP leader Jitendra Awhad for allegedly misleading people by spreading false information about the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana and help to farmers. The case was filed at Sambhajinagar MIDC Waluj Police Station under Section 353(2) of BNS for allegedly defaming the government.

Jitendra Awhad allegedly referred to a government resolution (GR) and claimed that the government had stopped providing help to the families of suicide victims. However, the Maharashtra government launched the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana on August 17 to provide financial assistance to women and make them more independent and self-reliant. The scheme offers Rs 1,500 per month to women aged 21-65 with an annual income of less than Rs 2.5 lakh.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde refuted reports that schemes for the families of farmers who died by suicide would be stopped. He emphasized that the government’s various schemes would continue alongside the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana. CM Shinde expressed satisfaction with the scheme, noting the happiness it brought to the beneficiaries, who plan to use the money for education, medication, and small businesses.
