NCP-SCP Announces Candidates for Maharashtra Elections

The Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Chandra Pawar) has revealed its first list of 45 candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections on November 20. A significant highlight is the nomination of Yogendra Pawar, nephew of Ajit Pawar, to contest against him in Baramati.

Key Candidates Announced

Jayant Patil, the State President of NCP-SCP, will contest from Islampur. Other notable candidates include Jitendra Awahad from Mumbra, Anil Deshmukh from Katol, and Rohit Pawar from Karjat Jamkhed. Rohini Khadse will represent Muktainagar.

Yogendra Pawar’s Candidacy

Jayant Patil explained that Yogendra Pawar’s selection for Baramati was based on local demand, highlighting his youth and education as assets. Patil expressed confidence in Pawar’s potential to bring different results this time.

Shiv Sena’s Candidate List

The Shiv Sena, led by Uddhav Thackeray, also released its list of 65 candidates. Aaditya Thackeray will contest from Worli, while Kedhar Dighe will face CM Eknath Sindhe in Kopri-Panchpakhadi.

Other Political Movements

Ajit Pawar’s NCP announced 38 candidates, with Ajit Pawar himself contesting from Baramati. The Mahavikas Aghadi alliance, including NCP, Shiv Sena, and Congress, will contest 85 seats each.

The elections are set for November 20, with results to be announced on November 23. In previous elections, the BJP and Shiv Sena have been dominant forces.
