NCP Leader Clyde Crasto Urges Safe Return of Indian Students Amid Bangladesh Unrest
Amid the unrest in Bangladesh, Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Chandra Pawar) leader Clyde Crasto has called on the central government to ensure the safe return of Indian students studying there. Crasto emphasized the sensitivity of the situation and its potential impact on neighboring countries.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar informed that there are approximately 19,000 Indian nationals in Bangladesh, including about 9,000 students. Most of these students returned to India in July. The government is in continuous contact with the Indian community in Dhaka through diplomatic missions.
Jaishankar also mentioned that former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in India after resigning amid the unrest. The Indian government is closely monitoring the situation, particularly concerning the safety of minorities in Bangladesh.
