On June 22, an important agreement was signed between Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) and two major cancer hospitals in Varanasi: Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Cancer Center (MPMMCC) and Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital (HBCH). This agreement aims to provide better facilities for cancer patients.

NCL will give Rs. 14.49 crore to these hospitals to buy new and advanced medical equipment. This will help improve existing facilities and add new ones in departments like Lab, Radiology, Transfusion Medicine, and CSSD.

Since their inauguration, over 1 lakh cancer patients have been treated at these hospitals. With the increasing number of patients, the hospitals are continuously working to improve their services.

Important people like Ministry of Coal Additional Secretary Rupinder Brar, NCL CMD B Sairam, and Varanasi Chief Development Officer Manish Kumar were present at the signing event. Director Hospital Satyajit Pradhan expressed gratitude to NCL for their support, emphasizing that the funds will help provide top-quality treatment to cancer patients in Uttar Pradesh and nearby states.

NCL, a subsidiary of Coal India Limited based in Singrauli, plays a crucial role in India’s energy security. Last year, NCL spent Rs. 157.87 crore on various social initiatives, including health and education.
