In Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh, two police officials injured in a Naxal encounter are showing signs of recovery, according to Sundarraj Pattilingam, the Inspector General of Police for the Bastar Range. Unfortunately, two Indian Tibetian Border Police (ITBP) jawans, Pawar Amar Shamrao and K Rajesh, lost their lives due to an IED blast by Naxals. The blast occurred near Kodliar village during a joint search operation by ITBP and Narayanpur police on October 19.

The deceased jawans hailed from Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. Their bodies will be returned to their families after post-mortem examinations. Meanwhile, the injured jawans are receiving treatment and their condition is improving.

In a related incident, Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada police reported that 38 Naxals were killed in an encounter near the Dantewada-Narayanpur border. The bodies of 31 Naxals have been recovered, and 29 have been returned to their families. All 38 Naxals have been identified.
