Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi Visits Southern Naval Command in Kochi

Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi arrived at the Southern Naval Command (SNC) in Kochi on August 26, marking his first visit since taking office. He was welcomed with a ceremonial Guard of Honour at INS Garuda.

During his visit, Admiral Tripathi met with Vice Admiral V Srinivas, Flag Officer Commanding in Chief of the Southern Naval Command. He was briefed on various training, operational, infrastructure, and administrative activities. The Command also presented an overview of their training programs and modernization projects.

Admiral Tripathi was informed about the disaster relief operations following the recent Wayanad landslides and appreciated the Command’s efforts. He inaugurated the renovated Command Stadium at the Naval Base in Kochi, which now features an eight-lane synthetic track, a central football field, and various athletic facilities.

He also interacted with the Navy football and volleyball teams, congratulating them on their recent victories in inter-services competitions. Additionally, Admiral Tripathi inaugurated the new Yard Utility Complex at the Naval Ship Repair Yard in Kochi, which will support the maintenance and servicing of mobile assets and specialist utility vehicles.

Admiral Tripathi will address the officers, sailors, trainees, and defense civilians of the SNC, sharing his vision and expectations. He will also visit his alma mater, Signal School, where he graduated as a Communication and Electronic Warfare specialist.
