Indian para-athlete Navdeep secured a silver medal in the men’s javelin F41 final at the Paris Paralympics with a personal best throw of 47.32m. The event took place at the jam-packed Stade de France.

Navdeep’s Performance

Navdeep started his campaign with a foul attempt but quickly recovered with a personal best throw of 46.39m in his second attempt. He then broke the Paralympic record with a massive 47.32m throw in his third attempt, moving to the top spot. However, Iran’s Sadegh Beit Sayah set a new Paralympic record with a 47.64m throw, pushing Navdeep to second place. Navdeep’s final attempts did not surpass his earlier record, and he ended the event with a silver medal.

Other Indian Athletes

Other Indian athletes had a challenging day. Para-cyclists Arshad Shaik and Jyoti Gaderiya finished 28th and 7th in their respective finals. Para-canoeist Prachi Yadav finished eighth in the final after qualifying third in the qualification round. Para-swimmer Suyush Jadhav finished fifth in the men’s 50M butterfly S7 heats.
