Nasir Aziz Khan Highlights Security Lapses in Rawalakot Prison Break

Sardar Nasir Aziz Khan, an activist from Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), has raised concerns about the recent Rawalakot prison break where 20 criminals escaped. He suggested that the incident might be an inside job rather than a mere strategy by the prisoners.

Prison Conditions and Past Incidents

Khan pointed out that the Rawalakot prison has been in terrible condition for a long time. Projects to replace it were halted by the Pakistani administration. He mentioned that this is not the first prison break in the area; a similar incident occurred in 2007 when prisoners escaped by destroying a single wall.

Details of the Recent Escape

According to Khan, the prison was only meant to handle prisoners of judicial custody, not hardcore criminals. On the day of the escape, which was a holiday, fewer defense personnel were present. The prisoners were out on the verandah and allegedly had access to supplies like Lassi and red chili powder, which they used to escape.

Tragic Incident

Khan also claimed that a young boy, who was in the wrong place at the wrong time, was allegedly killed by the escapees. There is a video showing the boy in a wounded condition, but no one took him to the hospital. Khan emphasized that the nearest hospital is just a 10-minute walk away.

Call for Action

Khan stressed the need for a proper prison facility and questioned the Pakistani authorities’ actions. He believes only the police can reveal the truth about the youngster’s death.
