On Sunday, Andhra Pradesh Human Resource Development Minister Nara Lokesh spoke about the heavy rainfall that caused a flood-like situation in parts of the state. He mentioned that the government managed to avert a major crisis by cleaning the drains, which prevented a worse situation.

During his visit to Mangalagiri, Lokesh assessed the rescue and relief measures taken by the government. He emphasized the need for a permanent solution to the drainage problem in the constituency. Lokesh criticized the previous government for inadequate drainage systems and stressed the importance of remapping the entire drainage system to ensure proper water flow.

Lokesh toured the Ratnalcheruvu area in Mangalagiri town, which was severely affected by the heavy rainfall, and interacted with the affected residents. He enquired about the relief measures provided by the government and assured the residents that all necessary assistance would be given to those affected by the floods.

Meanwhile, the Pulichintala dam in the Palnadu district has overflowed due to the heavy rain.
