Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio Confirms Strong Alliance Between NDPP and BJP

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio confirmed that the alliance between the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) remains strong. Despite rumors following the Lok Sabha election results, Rio assured that the partnership is stable.

Rio stated, “We have already given a joint statement that our alliance is normal and strong as it was.” He also mentioned that the establishment of Municipal Councils in the state would happen immediately, possibly within the next two days.

When asked about appointing a woman as Chairperson, Rio expressed optimism, saying, “Hopefully and gradually, they will catch up. They are doing exceedingly well.”

Earlier, on July 1, Nagaland Ministers Temjen Imna Along and KG Kenye issued a joint statement to clarify the unity of the PDA coalition. They stated, “The alliance between the NDPP and the BJP is as strong as ever, and the PDA Government is functioning smoothly.”
