Muslim Council of Elders Calls for Youth Empowerment on World Youth Skills Day

On July 15, the Muslim Council of Elders, chaired by His Eminence Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, highlighted the importance of empowering youth. The Council believes that young people are key to progress and development and calls for their empowerment through scientific and intellectual training.

The Council urges cooperation between governments, educational institutions, and civil society organizations to equip youth with the skills needed for creativity and innovation. They stress the active role of youth in fostering peace, enhancing human coexistence, and building bridges of communication.

Various initiatives demonstrate the Council’s commitment, such as the Emerging Peacemakers Forum, which provides a platform for youth aged 18 to 30 to launch peacebuilding projects. The Human Fraternity Dialogues introduce university students to the values of human fraternity, fostering interfaith and intercultural solidarity.

Other initiatives include the Ethics Education Fellowship, integrating ethical values into education, and the Azadi Fellowship Program in Islamabad, promoting religious and cultural dialogue and combating hate speech and extremism.

These efforts reflect the Council’s belief in the crucial role of youth in nation-building and community development.
