Mushtaq and Amir Accused of Stealing Water in Karachi
Two men, Mushtaq and Amir, have been accused of stealing water in Karachi after an illegal hydrant was discovered. This hydrant deprived the residents of Baldia Town of access to clean water.
A case has been registered at the Mochko Police Station based on a complaint by the Assistant Executive Engineer of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board. The duo reportedly broke a 33-inch water supply line near the Northern Bypass and made a 2-inch hole to steal water.
The water situation in Baldia Town remains dire, with the stolen water being sold through water tankers. This is not the first time Karachi has faced a water crisis. Earlier in April, during the Eid ul-Fitr festival, many parts of Karachi experienced severe water shortages, with no relief even during the festive days.
