Commuters’ Experiences

One of the first-day riders, Sai Kumar, shared his excitement about the new service, highlighting its affordability and time-saving benefits. “It used to take me an hour to reach my destination, but now it only takes 20 minutes,” he said, noting the significant cost savings compared to auto and cab fares.

Another commuter, Gulnaaz Sheikh, expressed her delight with the Metro’s comfort and efficiency. “It’s very hot outside, but this Underground Metro is cool and saves time,” she remarked, appreciating the reduced travel time from 45 minutes to just 15-20 minutes.

Inauguration by Prime Minister Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Metro line on Saturday, traveling from BKC to Santacruz station. During his journey, he interacted with various commuters, including school children and women. The project, costing Rs 14,120 crore, aims to enhance the ‘Ease of Living’ for Mumbai’s residents.

PM Modi shared a video of his Metro ride, capturing memorable interactions with passengers, including a musical moment with a young girl playing the guitar. He congratulated Mumbai’s citizens on the new Metro section, emphasizing its role in expanding the city’s Metro network.
