Mumbai’s Atal Setu Repair Work: Nana Patole Alleges Corruption

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is currently repairing the approach road connecting Atal Setu in Mumbai, Maharashtra. On Saturday, Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole inspected the cracks on the Mumbai-Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) and claimed that these cracks are due to corruption.

Repair Work Details

Project Head Kailash Gantra assured that the repair work would be completed by the evening. He mentioned that the cracks are minor and located on the approach road, not affecting traffic. Barricades have been placed for safety.

Gantra explained that the cracks appeared on the extended road of ramps 3 and 5, which are not in use. He clarified that the main bridge is unaffected, and the cracks are on a temporary service road.

MMRDA’s Clarification

MMRDA stated that the cracks are not due to structural defects and do not pose any threat to the bridge. They urged the public not to believe rumors. The contractor, Strabag, has started repairs, which will be completed within 24 hours without disrupting traffic.

Nana Patole’s Allegations

Nana Patole accused the Eknath Shinde government of corruption, stating that the cracks indicate poor construction quality. He promised to raise the issue in the Vidhan Sabha.
