Mumbai Tragedy: Pradeep Nakhwa Seeks Justice for Wife Kaveri in Hit-and-Run Case Involving Mihir Shah

In a tragic incident in Mumbai’s Worli area, Pradeep Nakhwa’s wife, Kaveri Nakhwa, lost her life in a hit-and-run accident. The incident occurred early Sunday morning when a speeding car, allegedly driven by Mihir Shah, hit the couple’s scooter. Pradeep and Kaveri were returning home after buying fish.

Details of the Incident

Pradeep recounted that the car hit them at high speed, causing them to fly into the air. While Pradeep fell to the side of the road, Kaveri was dragged by the car from Ceejay House to Sea Link Road. Despite Pradeep’s attempts to stop the car, the driver did not halt and fled the scene.

Delay in Arrest

Pradeep expressed frustration over the delay in arresting Mihir Shah, attributing it to political influence. He believes that Mihir, the son of a political leader, is being protected. Pradeep questioned whether the same delay would occur if the victim were from a wealthy family.

Police Investigation

The Worli Police presented CCTV footage in court, showing that Mihir dragged Kaveri for 1.5 km before stopping to remove her from the car’s bumper. Mihir then allegedly ran over her again before fleeing. The police have issued a lookout notice for Mihir, who is currently missing. They have also arrested Mihir’s father, Rajesh Shah, and another individual, Raj Rishi Rajendra Singh Vidawat, for not cooperating with the investigation.

Chief Minister’s Statement

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has condemned the rise in hit-and-run incidents and assured that no one, regardless of their status, will be spared. He emphasized his zero-tolerance policy for injustice and directed the police to take strict action.

Community Impact

Kaveri Nakhwa, a resident of Worli Koliwada, was a vital part of her family. Her death has left her family devastated. Pradeep, who is recovering from his injuries, is seeking justice for his wife and questioning the fairness of the legal process.
