Mumbai Police Pursues Extradition of Anmol Bishnoi
The Crime Branch of Mumbai Police is working to extradite Anmol Bishnoi, brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, from the United States. Anmol is wanted in a shooting case outside actor Salman Khan’s house. A senior Mumbai Police official stated that a non-bailable warrant and a red corner notice have been issued for Anmol’s arrest. The red corner notice is an Interpol request to locate and arrest a wanted criminal.
The police are awaiting certain court documents to complete the extradition formalities. Once received, a formal proposal will be sent to the central government. The special MCOCA court approved the Crime Branch’s application on October 16, and the necessary documents are expected soon.
On October 25, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for Anmol’s arrest. He is charged in two NIA cases from 2022 and is linked to various criminal activities. Authorities are urging the public to provide any information on Anmol’s whereabouts to aid in his capture.
