So far, the Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested four individuals in connection with the case, while three others, including Lonkar, are still on the run. The police have uncovered that the plan to kill Baba Siddique began three months ago, with the accused visiting Siddique’s house multiple times without weapons. The entire conspiracy was reportedly planned in Pune.

Financial Transactions and Arrests

According to the police, Harish, the fourth arrested accused, acted as a middleman. Praveen and Shubham Lonkar allegedly provided Rs 2 lakh to shooters Gurmel Singh and Dharamraj Kashyap, with the money being delivered through Harish.

Government’s Response

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has assured that those responsible for the crime will face strict action. Baba Siddique, a former Maharashtra Minister, was shot outside his office in Nirmal Nagar and succumbed to his injuries on October 12.
