Mumbai Police Investigate Murder of NCP Leader Baba Siddique and Threats to Son Zeeshan
In Mumbai, Maharashtra, the police have uncovered that the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique was part of a larger plot that also targeted his son, Zeeshan Siddique. The accused, during interrogation, revealed they were contracted to kill both father and son. Zeeshan had received threats days before the incident.
The Mumbai Police Crime Branch arrested Pravin Lonkar from Pune, who is linked to the case. Pravin is the brother of Shubuu Lonkar, who claimed on social media that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was responsible for the murder. Shubuu is currently on the run. Pravin allegedly provided shelter to the accused in Pune.
An ossification test confirmed that Dharmaraj Kashyap, another accused, is not a minor. Baba Siddique was shot outside his office in Nirmal Nagar and later died from his injuries at Lilavati Hospital. His funeral was held with full state honors at Bada Qabrastan.
Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, expressed sorrow over the incident and assured that the perpetrators, including any gang members, will face strict action. He emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety of those receiving threats.
