Mumbai Police Arrest Pravin Lonkar in Connection with Baba Siddique’s Murder
In a significant development, the Mumbai Police Crime Branch has arrested Pravin Lonkar from Pune. This arrest is linked to the murder case of NCP leader Baba Siddique. Pravin Lonkar is the brother of Shubuu Lonkar, who had posted on social media that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the murder. Shubuu Lonkar is currently on the run.
Pravin Lonkar is accused of providing shelter to the arrested individuals involved in the case. Meanwhile, an ossification test was conducted on Dharmaraj Kashyap, another accused in the murder case, to determine his age. The test confirmed that Kashyap is not a minor, leading to his presentation in court, which granted police custody until October 21.
The ossification test was ordered by Mumbai’s Esplanade Court after Kashyap’s lawyer claimed he was a minor. The arrested accused, Pravin Lonkar, is implicated in the conspiracy along with his brother Shubham Lonkar. They allegedly recruited Dharmaraj Kashyap and Shivkumar Gautam to execute the murder of Baba Siddique.
Baba Siddique was tragically shot outside his office in Nirmal Nagar and succumbed to his injuries at Lilavati Hospital. His funeral was conducted with full state honors at Bada Qabrastan in Mumbai.
Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, expressed his condolences and assured that the perpetrators, including any gang members, will face strict action. He emphasized the state’s commitment to ensuring the safety of those receiving threats.
