Mumbai NCB Destroys Nearly 1,000 kg of Seized Drugs

The Mumbai Zonal Unit of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has disposed of 982.100 kg of illicit drugs. These drugs were seized in various cases involving numerous offenders, including foreign nationals.

Drug Disposal Process

A Regular Drug Disposal Committee (RDDC) was formed to review the cases. Only fit cases were selected for disposal, and all legal terms were complied with. The drugs were incinerated on September 12 at Mumbai Waste Management Ltd. in Taloja, Maharashtra.

Types of Drugs Disposed

The disposed drugs included Ganja, Mephedrone, Ephedrine, CBCS, Nitrazepam tablets, Heroin, Cocaine, MDMA/Ecstasy, Methamphetamine, Charas, Opium, Zolpidem, Alprazolam, and Tramadol, totaling 982.100 kg. These were seized from multiple international and interstate drug syndicates.

NCB’s Efforts

The NCB has been actively working towards a drug-free society by targeting both interstate and international drug syndicates. They have focused on curbing drug trafficking and dismantling financial networks linked to these activities.
