Mumbai Crime Branch Investigates Murder of NCP Leader Sachin Kurmi

The Mumbai Crime Branch is now handling the investigation into the murder of Sachin Kurmi, a leader from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) – Ajit Pawar faction. Kurmi was tragically killed by three individuals who attacked him with a sharp weapon. The incident occurred when Kurmi left his home for a walk after dinner. The attackers, who arrived on a two-wheeler, assaulted him multiple times before fleeing the scene.

So far, three suspects have been arrested in connection with the case. The Mumbai Police have formed eight teams to apprehend the remaining suspects, with two additional teams from the crime branch actively searching for those still at large. CCTV footage has been crucial in identifying the suspects, showing them traveling on a two-wheeler before and after the crime.

Another NCP Leader, Baba Siddique, Shot

In a separate incident, Baba Siddique, another leader from the NCP-Ajit Pawar faction and a former Maharashtra Minister, was shot twice in the chest. He was taken to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital for emergency treatment but unfortunately did not survive. Gurmail Singh, the accused in Siddique’s shooting, has been taken into custody by the Mumbai Crime Branch until October 21.

Siddique’s body was transported from his Bandra residence for a state funeral, with his last rites performed at Bada Qabrastan in Mumbai with full state honors.
