Mumbai Crime Branch Arrests Man for Killing Friend Over Auto-Rickshaw Fare
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], August 13: The Mumbai Crime Branch arrested a 29-year-old man named Saif Zahid Ali at Kalyan railway station. He is accused of killing his friend, Chakkan Ali, over a dispute about a 30-rupee auto-rickshaw fare. Both men were friends from the Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh and had recently moved to Mumbai to work in a garment factory.
The incident occurred in Mumbai’s Kurla area when a disagreement over the fare escalated into violence, resulting in Chakkan Ali’s death. The Mumbai Crime Branch apprehended Saif Zahid Ali and handed him over to the Kurla Police.
In a separate incident, the Mumbai Police arrested a 26-year-old man on July 25 for the murder of a history-sheeter inside a spa in the Worli area. The suspect was caught in the Palghar district, and the victim was found with his throat slit.
Additionally, on Wednesday, six people were arrested for killing a man named Siddharth Kamble in the Chembur area of Mumbai. The fight, which was over an old rivalry, involved two groups, and the accused were reportedly drunk. Kamble was attacked with a sharp weapon and later died at Rajawadi Hospital.
