Mumbai Crime Branch Arrests Bhagwant Singh in Baba Siddique Murder Case
The Mumbai Crime Branch has made another arrest in the murder case of NCP leader Baba Siddique. Bhagwant Singh, the latest suspect, was apprehended in Belapur, Navi Mumbai. He is accused of providing shelter and weapons to the shooters and transporting weapons from Rajasthan to Mumbai.
Baba Siddique was shot outside his office in Nirmal Nagar and succumbed to his injuries at Lilavati Hospital on October 12. Following the incident, police security guard Shyam Sonawane was suspended for failing to act during the attack.
Investigations revealed that the conspirators used Snapchat to communicate, with messages being deleted after instructions. A photograph of Baba Siddique’s son, Zeeshan Siddique, was found on one of the accused’s phones.
Ram Kanojia, one of the arrested, disclosed that he was initially offered a contract to kill Baba Siddique for one crore rupees by fugitive Shubham Lonkar. However, due to the high demand, Lonkar hired shooters from Uttar Pradesh instead.
