Mumbai Court Sends Two More Accused in Baba Siddique Murder Case to Police Custody

In Mumbai, Maharashtra, two individuals have been sent to police custody until November 21 in connection with the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique. The decision was made by Mumbai’s Killa Court on Sunday. Salman Vohra is accused of financing the murder, while Akashdeep Singh is accused of communicating with another person about the crime. Vohra was arrested in Uttar Pradesh, and Singh was brought in from the Punjab border. Their roles in the case are reportedly different, with Vohra allegedly providing financial support and Singh involved in communication. This was their first court appearance.

Previously, on November 12, the court had sent Shiva Kumar, the main accused and shooter, along with four others, to police custody until November 19. They were arrested by a joint team of the UP Special Task Force and the Mumbai Crime Branch in Uttar Pradesh. Baba Siddique was shot dead on October 12 near his son Zeeshan Siddique’s office in Mumbai. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the murder.

Investigations have revealed that after Siddique’s murder, another prominent leader from Pune was targeted by the Bishnoi gang. Additionally, Shubham Lonkar, associated with the gang, allegedly planned to kill Aftab Poonawala, who is involved in another high-profile murder case, in Delhi’s Saket Court in 2022. Poonawala is currently in Tihar Jail.
