MSDE and Meta Join Forces for AI and VR Innovations in Skill India Mission

MSDE Partners with Meta for AI and VR Initiatives

The Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has teamed up with Meta to launch two major initiatives: an AI Assistant for the Skill India Mission and five Centers of Excellence (CoEs) in Virtual Reality (VR) and Mixed Reality (MR). These efforts aim to enhance learning experiences and provide cutting-edge technology access to learners.

AI Assistant for Skill India

An AI-powered chatbot, developed using Meta’s open-source Llama model, will be integrated into the Skill India Digital (SID) Portal. This chatbot will offer 24/7 assistance, interactive Q&A, and access to course content, supporting English, Hindi, and Hinglish languages. It will be available on WhatsApp, making it accessible to a wide range of users.

Centers of Excellence in VR and MR

Five CoEs will be established at National Skill Training Institutes in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Jodhpur, Chennai, and Kanpur. These centers will provide learners and instructors with the latest VR technology for immersive and engaging skill development training.

Technical Partners

Sarvam AI will develop and deploy the AI chatbot, while Skillveri will provide VR and MR resources for the CoEs. These partnerships aim to empower students, educators, and entrepreneurs with the tools needed for success in a digital-first world.
