Extension of Mritunjay Kumar Narayan’s Tenure
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the extension of Mritunjay Kumar Narayan’s tenure. Narayan, a 1995-batch Indian Administrative Service officer from the Uttar Pradesh cadre, will continue in his role beyond December 6, 2024, up to August 4, 2026, or until further orders. His experience in various administrative roles and as Census Commissioner is vital for the upcoming census exercises.
Praveen Vashista’s New Role
Praveen Vashista, a 1991-batch Indian Police Service officer, has been appointed as the Special Secretary (Internal Security) in the Ministry of Home Affairs. He will assume this role following the superannuation of Sivagami Sundari Nanda on December 31, 2024. Vashista’s tenure will last until July 31, 2026, or until further orders.
