The main opposition party, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), and the ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) traded criticisms over the ongoing governance in Sindh.

MQM-P’s Criticism

Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, chairman of the MQM-P, criticized the province’s administration for neglecting Karachi, a city that significantly contributes to taxes and donations.

PPP’s Response

Sindh Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah responded by accusing MQM-P of misusing donations and defended the PPP’s record, stating that the government had spent thirty billion rupees on Jinnah Hospital, NICVD, and NICH.

Opposition’s Retaliation

Leader of the Opposition in the Sindh Assembly, Ali Khurshidi, accused the PPP’s Sindh administration of corruption, claiming that corruption in Sindh has become a lucrative industry. He questioned why Karachi and other towns still lack essential services like jobs, sewage systems, water, and education.
