MP CM Mohan Yadav Pays Tribute to Soldier Pradeep Patel After Sikkim Road Accident
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Saturday paid tribute to soldier Pradeep Patel, who lost his life in a road accident in Sikkim. The tribute was held at Khajuraho Airport in Chhatarpur district.
Four Indian Army personnel, including Pradeep Patel, died in the accident on September 5. They were traveling from Pedong in West Bengal to Zuluk along the Silk Route in Pakyong District, Sikkim.
Pradeep Patel was from Hardua village in Katni district. CM Yadav expressed his grief and announced a financial assistance of Rs 1 crore to Patel’s parents. He said, “It is a very sad incident for us but we will always be proud of our security forces. Our soldiers do their duty diligently and play a vital role in safeguarding the nation.”
The other soldiers who died were identified as craftsman W Peter from Manipur, Naik Gursev Singh from Haryana, and Subedar K Thangapandi from Tamil Nadu. All belonged to a unit from Binnaguri in West Bengal.
The vehicle skidded off the road approximately 700 to 800 feet down at Vertical Veer, near Dalapchand Dara along Rhenock Rongli state highway, known as the Silk Route.
