Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], July 2: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his remarks in Parliament. Yadav suggested that Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge should discuss the issue with Rahul Gandhi regarding his resignation.

Several Congress leaders, including Lakshman Singh, expressed disagreement with Gandhi’s comments. Singh stated on X that the remarks about Hindus were indecent and unnecessary, and that only issues related to the people and the country should be raised.

State Minister Krishna Gaur also objected to Gandhi’s remarks, stating that Hindus across the country were angry and that Gandhi should apologize. Gaur emphasized that the people of the country would not tolerate the insult of Hindus.

On the other hand, Congress MLA Hiralal Alawa defended Gandhi, claiming that the BJP was misrepresenting his statements. Alawa stated that Gandhi had only criticized the BJP and Narendra Modi’s government, not Hindus.

The controversy led to an uproar in the state assembly, with BJP members demanding an apology from Gandhi. The assembly proceedings were briefly adjourned due to the commotion.

During a debate in Parliament, Gandhi accused the BJP-led government of attacking the idea of India and the Constitution. He also described the Hindu symbol ‘Abhaya Mudra’ as the symbol of the Congress party, representing fearlessness and safety.

Gandhi clarified that the BJP, RSS, and Narendra Modi do not represent the entire Hindu society. BJP members, however, accused him of insulting the Hindu religion by associating it with violence.

Earlier, CM Yadav had called for Gandhi to apologize and for the Congress party to clarify its stance on his remarks.
