Morocco Celebrates 25th Throne Day of King Mohammed VI in India
The Ambassador of Morocco to India, Mohamed Maliki, celebrated the 25th enthronement anniversary of King Mohammed VI in New Delhi. He expressed joy over the strong cultural and historical ties between Morocco and India, noting that both nations have rich cultural heritages.
Ambassador Maliki highlighted the significant growth in economic relations since King Mohammed VI’s visit to India in 2015. Trade between the two countries increased from USD 1.1 billion in 2015 to USD 4.2 billion in 2022, with the number of Indian companies in Morocco rising from 13 to 45.
Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Anupriya Patel, also attended the celebrations. She extended her best wishes on behalf of the Indian government and emphasized Morocco’s crucial role in phosphate production, which is vital for India’s food security.
India and Morocco share a long history of relations dating back to the 14th century. Modern diplomatic relations were established in 1957, and the two countries have since enjoyed a deep and enduring friendship.
