Monty Panesar Praises Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah in T20 World Cup 2024

Former England cricketer Monty Panesar believes that spinner Kuldeep Yadav is the ‘X factor’ for Team India in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. After missing the group stage, Kuldeep made his place in the playing eleven against Afghanistan in the Super Eights. He picked up two wickets and gave 32 runs in his four-over spell.

Panesar pointed out that no other team has a left-arm China man spinner, giving India an advantage. He also praised India’s strong bowling attack, highlighting the contrast of Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel. Panesar emphasized the value of pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who has been phenomenal in the tournament.

Recapping India’s match against Afghanistan, India won the toss and elected to bat first. Despite struggling at 90/4, a 60-run partnership between Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya took India to 181/8. Afghanistan was bundled out for 134 runs, with Bumrah, Arshdeep, and Kuldeep taking key wickets. Suryakumar Yadav was named ‘Player of the Match’.
