About Monsignor Koovakad

Monsignor Koovakad is a dedicated priest from the Syro-Malabar Archdiocese of Changanacherry, Kerala. He has been serving the Vatican and the global Church in various capacities. Born in Thiruvananthapuram on August 11, 1973, he was ordained a priest on July 24, 2004, by Archbishop Joseph Powathil.

Career and Achievements

He joined the Vatican Diplomatic Service in 2006 after completing his studies at the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy. Monsignor Koovakad has held significant diplomatic roles within the Holy See and has served in several Apostolic Nunciatures. Since 2020, he has been responsible for organizing Pope Francis’ international travels as part of the Vatican’s Secretariat of State.
