Mohammed Siraj Meets Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy After T20 World Cup Win
Indian cricketer Mohammed Siraj met Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Tuesday after India’s T20 World Cup victory. Siraj, who played three matches in the tournament, was honored by the Chief Minister.
The Telangana government announced that Siraj would receive a state job and a house in Hyderabad for his performance. The Chief Minister appreciated Siraj’s efforts and ordered officials to find a suitable place for him to live and provide a government job.
In the final match of the T20 World Cup, India won the toss and chose to bat first. Despite early setbacks, a strong partnership between Virat Kohli and Axar Patel helped India reach 176/7. South Africa’s chase fell short, thanks to excellent bowling by Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya. Virat Kohli was named ‘Player of the Match’ for his performance.
This victory marks India’s first ICC title since the Champions Trophy in 2013.
