Mizoram Police Seize Drugs Worth Rs 42.38 Crore
Three People Arrested from Tripura
In Aizawl, Mizoram, the police seized a large amount of drugs worth over Rs 42.38 crore and arrested three individuals. The Mizoram Police, acting on a tip-off, intercepted a vehicle near Dulte village in Khawzawl district. Inside the vehicle, they found 14.082 kg of methamphetamine and 2.804 kg of heroin hidden in a secret compartment.
Lalbiakthanga Khiangte, the Inspector General of Police (Law & Order) in Mizoram, stated that the arrested individuals are MD Iman Hossain (23), Rippan Hossain (37), and Niranjan Karmakar (40), all from Tripura. The market value of the seized drugs is estimated to be over Rs 42.38 crore.
A case has been registered under sections 21(c), 22(c), 25, and 29(1) of the NDPS Act for further investigation.
