On August 15, Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma hoisted the national flag in Aizawl to celebrate the 78th Independence Day. He extended his heartfelt greetings to the people of Mizoram and the Zo ethnic communities living outside the state. He expressed deep gratitude to the freedom fighters who dedicated their lives to the nation, ensuring that India is a proud and respected democracy.

CM Lalduhoma emphasized that his administration prioritizes ‘Mizoram first’ in every policy, aiming to meet the expectations and hopes of the people. He reiterated the government’s commitment to inclusive governance, transparency, and improved public service delivery.

He announced a budget of Rs 110 crore for the minimum support price of four selected crops, overseen by the Agricultural Market Assurance Fund Management Board. The Resource Mobilization Committee was formed to advise on resource strategies and recommend austerity measures. The Mizoram State Policy Coordination Committee and the Mizoram State Project Monitoring Committee were also established to enhance policy implementation and maintain integrity in major projects.

Under the new government, Rs 425.49 crores held under K-Deposit has been released, and Rs 359.89 crore towards GPF payments has been cleared. The first installment of the MLA Local Area Development Fund, amounting to Rs 40 crores, has been released.

Several key initiatives were highlighted, including the Mizoram Sustainable Investment Policy, 2024, and the enhancement of services under the Mizoram Right to Public Services Act, 2015. The government is set to launch its flagship Hand Holding Policy soon. Other notable achievements include the MSME Elevate Mizoram program, the revival of the Mizoram State Core Committee on Ruihhlo Do, and the establishment of the Mizo Diaspora Cell, the Corporate Social Responsibility Cell, and the State Institution for Transformation under the Planning Department.
