Minister Narayan Singh Kushwaha’s Advice to Help Husbands Quit Drinking in Bhopal

Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Minister Narayan Singh Kushwaha has given some unique advice to help men quit drinking. He suggested that women should ask their husbands to bring liquor home and drink it in front of their families. The idea is that men will feel ashamed and eventually stop drinking.

Minister Kushwaha, who is in charge of Social Justice and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, shared this advice during a Nasha Mukti Abhiyan program in Bhopal. He also advised women not to cook food for husbands who come home drunk and to form ‘Belan’ gangs to show their disapproval.

When asked about a possible liquor ban in Madhya Pradesh, the minister said that it is under consideration. He noted that even in states where liquor is banned, it is still available. He believes that public awareness can help in implementing a liquor ban.

Additionally, Minister Kushwaha flagged off the Jan Jagrukta Rath, a vehicle that will travel around the city to raise awareness about quitting drug addiction.
